BUZZ FROM THE CLUBS Members and employee partners receive accolades More than 250 members of Hunter’s Green Country Club in Tampa, Fla., gathered at the club in December to honor their fellow member Dave Andreychuk, who celebrated his induction into the National Hockey League Hall of Fame in November. Also in attendance: the Stanley Cup, brought to the event at Andreychuk’s request. During his 24-season career, the hockey star played for six NHL teams, winning the Stanley Cup as team captain of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004. The LPGA Tournament Owners Association selected the ANA Inspiration, played annually at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., for the 2017 Tournament of the Year award, which recognizes a standout tournament each year. This year, the tournament takes place at the ClubCorp club March 29-April 1. In other awards news, the North Texas chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America recognized Scott Miller, director of agronomy at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, Texas, as 2017 Superintendent of the Year KITCHEN WARS: Congratulations to executive chef Benjamin Knack of Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club in Fair Oaks, Texas, who battled it out on Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen All-Stars and ended the competition as runner-up in February’s season finale. During the series, Chef Knack competed against 15 other chefs, including Giovanni Filippone, executive chef at affiliate club Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club in Santa Rosa, Fla., who finished in 12th place. Gordon Ramsay chose both chefs to return for the all-star season after Chef Knack’s third-place ranking in season seven and Chef Filippone’s sixth-place finish in season five.
